Shopping

LOL pics of my loot from the shopping trip awhile back.

Hairband, handphone screen cleaner, earring stand from daiso. All for $2! :DD

I'm super pleased with the earring stand. Its made in Korea and just as pretty as those that retail at $12 ++

Hairband $11.90, Hairclip $16.90 both from helen. Helen's having a promo now. Its been quite long alr actually. Get the 2nd item 30% off. 50% off for members.

This was not bought by me btw. My aunt gave them to me. Its sth called Mircoz fibre. They're fibres you're supposed to apply to your eyelashes, presumably to make them look thicker. Haha I thought it was a mascara at first and was puzzled by the "hairs" I saw.

Popped by Sanrio Giftgate at plaza sing. :D
They had a new display of My Melody.

And look at the hello kitty ribbons on the floor! :D
Kawaii :D

Haha and randomness here. I saw this chi ver of hello kitty cartoon on sale on the first floor for like $.095. Wonder if its pirated cos it sure looks cheap to me.

Also bought a new tee from FOX. There are minnie mouse pics on both sides. Bought it for $13 only from the Fox sale at tp mall.

And an old song to round it all off:

Daiso base coat review

It costs $2, as with everything in Daiso. It's made in taiwan btw, not Jp. It contains 10ml of product, and is supposed to prevent your nails from yellowing

Ingredients: ehtyl acetate, butyl acetate, isopropyl alcohol, nitrocellulose, phthalic anhydride/trimetallic anhydride/glycols copolymer, acetyl tributyl citrate, adipic acid/fumaric acid/phthalic acid/tricyclodecane dimethanol copolymer, C10-18 triglycerides, panax ginseng root extract

This are pictures of my nails after two weeks

As you can see, my nails are pretty yellow so it doesn't really do what its supposed to do. But then, all the base coats I have used before also did not prevent nails from yellowing so I think the product is not really at fault. It actually holds the nail polish to the nail pretty well so I pretty much like it. Also, it has a watery consistency which I really like cos it won't thicken really fast and be really difficult to spread.

So overall, it doesn't prevent yellowing of nails but I think its not a bad purchase for $2 cos I like its other qualities.

Bought some stuff recently, mostly for handicraft, from daiso and also canmake powder cheeks in 08. John Little's having 20% off now so I only paid $14.30 instead of the usual $17.90 :DD
And a Hello Kitty mirror for $3 :DD I finally own something from the 35th anniversary collection haha although she's 36 this year.

Also saw this super gorgeous little twin stars pouch. It's really rare for them to put out merchandise like this cos kiki & lala are always portrayed in pastel colours so I was pretty surprised when I saw this.

Spring nails!

As you might have already known, the popular colours for spring 2010 are green and blue! haha So I came up with designs for nails for spring! I don't have light blue nail polish so I had to make do with dark blue nail polish...though its not really spring-ish... aish. But who cares! As long as my nails look pretty and I have fun puttin gon nail polish heehee

Nail polish used for fingernails & toenails:

Left to right: Sylvie nail polish, daiso top coat, the face shop nail polish, daiso base coat, the face shop nail polish

Hands:
Paint 2 coats of the face shop green nail polish

Then add a stripe of the face shop sparkly orange nail polish across the middle of your nails, 2 stripes for thumb.

And the toes:
Apply 1 coat of Sylvie dark blue nail polish

Then design your toes as deem fit. Okay that sounds so guailan haha.
I did overlapping polka dots for one of my big toes and a rainbow-like thing for the other using the same nail polishes I used for my fingernails.

Shopping at plaza sing & malaysia goods

Went to plaza sing recently with my friends and bought quite a bit of stuff haha

The item I'm most pleased with is this pair of green ballet flats! :D So gorgeous and it only cost $10~ cos it was on sale :D

My friend bought a pair of gold sandals which were going at $10 too. Wanted a pair of leopard print high heels but it was retailing at $29.95 :( Gonna wait for sales! heehee

Bought a base coat from Daiso...its supposed to prevent the nails from yellowing. It has a watery consistency so I pretty much like it. Thick nail polishes tend to dry up really quickly. And I have tons of nail polish so they are often already dried up when I want to use them again. As for its efficiency I'm not sure about that cos I haven't tested it out yet...wait for the verdict 2 weeks later haha

And...Mint Humbugs and Soft Caramels from Marks & Spencers!! :DDD
A lot of their stuff were on sale! I bought these 2 at $3.90 each :D
Super yummy :))

And my mom bought me stuff from M'sia! :D
She popped by Etude House and saw the lipsticks and moistfull skincare series on sale (50% off! Singapore's etude house don't have sales :( ) And according to her, the body shop relaunched bath gels were going at 3 for RM 48! That's such a steal :O

So she bought me Etude House petit darling lipstick in pp901. Its a bright fuchsia pink with glitter. Haha it sounds really loud but it isn't cos its pretty sheer so it gives only a slight hint of colour.

And she also bought me the moistfull peeling wash

And a slice of cake from secret recipe! :D YUMMY

Handicraft: Decorating shoeboxes

did some handicraft again
decorated 2 shoeboxes :D

The first one is used to store my nail polish and nail deco stuff

Materials used: yellow felt, black lace sticker and a sharpie marker.
The yellow felt and the black lace sticker were bought at Daiso and the marker at Popular.

This is pretty simple cos all it involves is measuring, cutting and sticking.
After that just draw on the cover with the sharpie marker.

After completion!

The other box:
For this one I used cherry print cloth, white lace sticker, 2 white ribbons and a cherry deco piece.
The cherry print cloth and white lace sticker were from Daiso and the other stuff were odds and ends i found in my room lol

Stick on the cherry print cloth

Add a white lace border

Sew 2 white ribbons, 1 translucent and 1 opaque on top of each other and glue it onto the cover.
After that, glue on the cherry deco piece to cover the thread.

Close up of the cute cherry deco piece! :D

and........TADAA!!

But i've still got to buy more felt and cloth cos i've only covered one side of the shoeboxes haha

Did buy some more materials from Daiso to line the inside of the boxes.

Cldn't find the cherry print cloth so i bought a polka dotted one.

Its pretty useful cos the back of it is already sticky so all you have to do is cut it to the correct size then peel it off and stick it on.

But the cloth one is really thin and flimsy and tends to stick to itself. Be careful and peel and stick on slowly bit by bit cos you don't want to get air bubbles inside.
